Italy to host Iran animation

Iran short animation ‘Mr. Deer’ is slated to be screened at the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy.

Directed by Mojtaba Mousavi, the animation is to vie at the competition section of the 48th edition of the event.

Produced by Elaheh Farnia, ‘Mr. Deer’ took two years of production with professional tech crew in collaboration.

The 9-minute animation is set in an unknown time, in a ruined subway station which is similar to those in modern European societies. People in this society have animal faces and have forgotten humane values.

‘Mr. Deer’ has gone on screen at international film events such as the 2018 Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France.

Giffoni International Film Festival is the largest children’s film festival in Europe. More than 2,000 children attend the festival from 39 countries around the world.

During the festival, the children and teenagers watch the films, learn about the filmmaking process, and are called to judge them and award the best ones with prizes.

The 48th edition of the festival is scheduled to be held on July 20-28, 2018 in Italy.
